The Financial Aid Program at Alasdair Fraser's Sierra Fiddle Camp, established to provide financial aid grants for the purpose of encouraging the spread of traditional music, is open to all attendees of Sierra Fiddle Camp. This program is funded by the Sierra Fiddle Village Fund, which is wholly supported by private donations and is a part of the Scottish Fiddlers of California, a 501(c)3 entity. Grants are awarded on a basis of financial need, demonstrated interest in traditional music, and promise. Travel expenses are taken into account. You need not be an accomplished musician to apply; awards are made to both children and adult campers.

The Alasdair Fraser’s Sierra Fiddle Camp will again offer scholarships for teachers of music. We recognize that teachers hold a special position in our society for which they are rarely sufficiently financially compensated, and we take seriously our responsibility, and that of our parent organization the Scottish Fiddlers of California, to support, nourish and replenish our community of educators. Your participation in camp, and what you bring back to your students, amplifies our efforts to inspire musical exploration, growth and expression, extending the spirit of Sierra Fiddle Camp well beyond its participants.
This scholarship is limited to teachers of music. Please note that this scholarship applies only to Sierra Fiddle Camp (and not the Valley of the Moon Scottish Fiddling School).
Please fill out this online form and submit it by March 1, 2024. |
