Gabriel Soler

Gabriel Vergelín Soler is a jazz cellist born in Argentina in 1994 and currently based in Switzerland. He doesn’t just play the cello—he makes it groove. Whether he’s jamming with friends, laying down funky lines in the studio, or bringing energy to the stage, his playing is all about rhythm, vibe, and connection.

Rooted in Argentinian folk music, Gabriel also dives deep into intricate rhythms from the Balkans and Africa, blending them into his unique style. He’s learned from cello legends like Rushad Eggleston, Nathaly Haas, Vincent segal and Martin Melendez among others picking up tricks that make his playing fresh, fun, and full of life. He’s been part of summer camps in Switzerland and Spain, always looking for new ways to make music with others.

Gabriel plays with Vol au Vent (wild world music), Nemie (indie folk), and Chifla Pacú (Argentinian folk), bringing his rhythmic versatility to every project. But where he really comes alive is in jam sessions. He’s hosted tons of jams at his place and other spots, turning any space into a music-filled, high-energy hangout.

If you love improvised music, tight grooves, and just letting loose, Gabriel’s the kind of musician you want in the room. Pick up your instrument and let’s jam!
